So…
I found this amazing channel on Youtube – with Aussie slang words,
and how to pronounce them.
The first one from the series will be of course – the most handy one – “how to order a beer on tap in Australia”.
Watch it and then read below, where I explain a bit more !
Enjoy !
In South East Queensland where I currently live, people don’t use the word Middy, but they say Pot instead.
Coming from UK, where ordering a beer was as simple as Pint or half a Pint,
it was a bit complicated, so just so you know – quick description of how it is in the Gold Coast:
(keep in mind, that it’s completely different in other Australian states ; ))
Pot (Small Beer) – 285ml
Scooner (I call it Medium Beer ; )) – 425ml (0.75 of UK Pint)
Pint (Big Beer) – 570ml
(also I am referring to UK Pints, not the US ones : p)
I hope this will come handy ; )
